BI-210 Introduction to PC's, Windows and Office

General Description:

This course is ideal for people who are either new to computers or want to know more and wish to improve their keyboard skills. It will give you a good understanding of PC hardware and software, the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

Learning Outcomes:

At the completion of this courseware participants will be able to:

  • differentiate between the different types of computers

  • identify the hardware components of a computer

  • minimize, maximise, move and resize windows

  • access Windows, identify the screen elements, and work with a mouse

  • perform some simple word processing operations with Word.

  • perform some simple spreadsheet operations with Excel

Target Audience:

This course is intended for people who wish to learn how to use a Personal Computers and gain a basic understanding of the Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Prerequisites:

This course is intended for people with little or no knowledge of using Personal Computers.

Methodology:

 

A self-paced hands-on approach is taken during this course. A case study is used to produce real-life scenarios so that learners experience how to use the software to solve everyday problems and undertake routine tasks. A course manual is included in the cost of this course. Course files are provided with this courseware.

Certificate:

The Bookkeeping Institute of Australia will issue a Certificate of Achievement upon completion of this course.
