General Description:

The skills and knowledge covered in this publication are sufficient to create real-world documents including letters, memos, faxes, basic flyers, basic newsletters, and the like.

Learning Outcomes:

At the completion of this courseware participants will be able to:

  • find your way around the Microsoft Word screen

  • open, save and close documents and understand how documents are presented on the screen

  • create a new document

  • select and work with text in a document

  • format text in a document

  • create and use tabs stops and leaders

  • create tables of figures and text

  • access and use the help system and work safely with your computer.

Target Audience:

This course aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge to create real-world documents including letters, memos, faxes, basic flyers, basic newsletters on a day-to-day basis.

Prerequisites:

It is assumed in this course that participants have no prior knowledge of Microsoft Word. However, it would be beneficial to have a general understanding of personal computers and the Windows operating system as you will be required to start applications, work with and copy files, and locate file folders.

Methodology:

 

A self-paced hands-on approach is taken during this course. A case study is used to produce real-life scenarios so that learners experience how to use the software to solve everyday problems and undertake routine tasks. A course manual is included in the cost of this course. Course files are provided with this courseware.

Certificate:

The Bookkeeping Institute of Australia will issue a Certificate of Achievement upon completion of this course.
